New York City Clipper

City-Kid Review:

Oh, yeah, yeah. Whole body. Love it.

New Yorkers do kid birthday parties like no-one else. Our friends daughter wanted a party on a boat, so they organized a trip on the City Clipper. You get on at the south tip of Manhattan, on the south edge of battery park. We all gathered below the canopy and enjoyed amazing views, in particular of Governor’s Island, as well as Manhattan, Brooklyn and New Jersey.

City Kid loved running around the boat, climbing on every possible surface, ‘steering’ the boat with the ship’s wheel and eating birthday cake. She pointed out a couple of giant gaps in the netting at the ship’s helm which made me nervous and kept me following after her like a helicopter mom. Eventually, a member of staff stood at that particular area of the boat, which allowed me to breath a little easier. Not that I think she would have done anything, but you never know with adventurous kids!

I highly recommend this trip and I look forward to doing it again. It is particularly fun in a large group.
