A Massive Snail? In Manhattan?
City-Kid Review:
It’s so big!! I love it!
Do you love this quirky city? Do you love artists?
If you love both, you will love, love, this series of whimsical city art pieces along the Broadway Mall, by Kathy Ruttenberg. They run from 157th Street to 64th Street.
I stepped out of 96th street subway station feeling frustrated after being super late dropping off City Kid at camp; it was raining; I was tired from staying up too late. Walked out of the door and there was a gigantic snail with a glass shell with…something…inside…
Immediately, my mood shifted. I was infected by whimsy and, as folks trudged by, umbrellas in hand, I was completely drawn to this beautiful culture.
Artists think differently and city art changes our space. It shifts our thinking. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need that.

Top-Tip
I love the Ayurveda Cafe, located on Amsterdam at 94th Street. They have a set menu every day. It’s delicious and abundant.

If you go and see any of these sculptures, can you take a photo and post on the CityKidAdventures facebook page? That would be brilliant! Here is the link. You can post below, too, I think. Would love to see them!
