Indian Road Cafe

City-Kid Review:

Chows down all of her food. Nothing more needs to be said.

Complimentary homemade Rosemary bread and homemade butter.
A kids menu.
Crayons and a kids activity page brought to the table.
Water brought in glasses for the adults and a plastic cup with lid and straw for the City Kid – without asking.
Absolutely, top notch, delicious farm-to-table food
Wonderful wines.
And that’s just the dinner.

As we camped out in Inwood Park, overnight, we got to try their breakfast, too – not the brunch, as we were too early but their pastries, freshly squeezed OJ, croissants, cappuccino and even Matcha latte with almond milk. Yes, they even had that last one which is my preferred caffeinated beverage.

The ambience of the Indian Road Cafe is, at once, neighborly and hipster. They have a bar and bands play there. It is a cafe, restaurant and bar all rolled into one, and in a great location, on the corner of Inwood Park and Indian Road.

It is kid friendly in an honest way, with healthy attitude and healthily, delicious food. The kid mac & cheese was deliciously made with real cheese – City Kid hoovered up the entire plate, along with a plate of patatas alioli and some of my spinach with garlic. We ate tapas-style, with the addition camembert cheese, which was served with some sort of red seed relish and fresh, home-made bread.

NYC, Indian Road Cafe

Need to Knows:

Location: 600 West 218th Street and Indian Road, New York, NY 10034. It is on the northern most corner accessible by  road, of Inwood Park.
The menu is an eclectic mix of American and other food. It is all farm-to-table and everything we ate is delicious.  It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and ranges from sandwiches to full dinner options. The cafe is open all day. It is also a bar, with a separate bar menu.

Top-Tip

The wine is good, too.
